'This is but a horizon we are working towards' is a reminder that as a community and individuals, LGTQIA+ people still have a long road ahead to a future where we are able to freely live our truths. This road moves toward a horizon that is unknown and constantly changing and that this constant change is ok. This is a reminder that we will be ok together, that we are not alone, that we have value and power, and that we can care for and embrace one another from a distance. This is but a horizon we are working towards is a visual beacon where audiences can meet to share queer stories of hope, care, love and power. The slogan 'This is but a horizon we are working towards' takes its inspiration form Cruising Utopia: The Then and There of Queer Futurity by José Esteban Muñoz. “Part proclamation, part love-letter to our past, our present and our future, ‘This is but a horizon we are working towards’ is an urgent, but gentle message that our here and now are not enough. It sends an urgent signal for the recalibration of our queer political imagination”.
